Advancing Human-Relevant Drug Discovery Through New Approach Methodologies
Axxam is pleased to participate in the PRIM-TECH3R Industry Liaison Event, taking place in Rome, Italy, on 22 June 2026.
The event brings together research infrastructures, technology developers, academic scientists, and industry representatives to discuss how innovative technologies and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) can contribute to more predictive and human-relevant biomedical research.
Alessandro Cinti, our Scientific Research Expert, and Sonia Viganò, our Scientist of the Cell Biology group, will attend the event, presenting both a scientific poster and an oral presentation focused on the implementation of NAMs in modern drug discovery.

New Approach Methodologies are reshaping drug discovery by enabling researchers to generate data that better reflects human physiology and disease biology.
During this presentation, Axxam will showcase its integrated, complexity-escalating strategy for implementing NAMs throughout the discovery process. Rather than relying on a single experimental model, this approach leverages complementary technologies and biological systems, progressively increasing biological complexity as projects advance.
The presentation will highlight how robust screening-compatible assays can be combined with advanced human-derived models, including iPSC-based systems, high-content imaging approaches, and other physiologically relevant platforms, to support critical decision-making throughout drug discovery.
In addition to the oral presentation, Axxam will present a scientific poster highlighting its expertise in applying human-relevant models and integrated discovery technologies to drug discovery challenges.
