Axxam's Covalent Library
Expanding opportunities
To leverage the advantages of covalent binding, Axxam has developed a focused library of 9,000 compounds, each carefully designed to optimize both covalent and non-covalent interactions.
This library has been rigorously curated to meet high standards in terms of chemical properties and diversity, with compounds synthesized within the last five years and each maintaining purity levels above 90%.
Key features of the library
Diverse Warheads: over 50 different warheads have been included to increase both the variety and quantity of covalent bonds. This ensures the flexibility to form strong covalent interactions across a range of targets.
High structural diversity of seekers: the seeker portion of the compounds is designed for high structural diversity, maximizing the chances of forming non-covalent interactions with a wide array of biological targets. This enhances target selectivity and increases the potential success of target engagement.
Applications in drug discovery
This library is designed for broad application in drug discovery and can be particularly useful in:
- Identifying new targets for drug development, especially in difficult-to-drug proteins.
- Developing inhibitors that are more robust against mutations and resistance mechanisms.
- Supporting functional studies in basic biology by providing novel tools for modulating protein function.
Covalent drugs offer a powerful alternative to traditional drug development approaches, particularly when addressing challenges such as target resistance and “undruggable” proteins. Axxam’s curated covalent library offers the tools needed to explore these opportunities, combining high-affinity warheads with diverse seeker components for enhanced selectivity and efficacy.
By integrating this library into our portfolio, we can help overcome critical bottlenecks in drug development and accelerate the journey from target identification to therapeutic candidates.
