Data analysis and compound handling

Webinar Summary:

Compound Management and Data Analysis are key elements in the High Throughput Screening (HTS) workflow able to respond to various challenges faced during each and every phase of an HTS campaign.

Thanks to the experience arising from 20 years of services supporting research organizations and proprietary projects in the field of drug discovery and active natural products identification, Axxam brings together the expertise and infrastructure necessary to respond to clients’ diverse needs effectively and efficiently.

This webinar aims to give a comprehensive overview of the workflows and practices adopted by Axxam’s Compound Management/Data Analysis Unit in response to the challenges of HTS, with a special focus on the “leitmotif” behind: a strong and adaptable IT infrastructure that unites the core HTS functions of compound management, automation, and data analysis.

  • Cinzia Nucci – Unit Manager, Data Analysis/Compound Management, Axxam S.p.A.
  • Nazareno Menegatti – Operational Manager, Data Analysis/Compound Management, Axxam S.p.A.

Cinzia Nucci has a degree in Biological Sciences (University of Parma). She started working in the High-Throughput Screening (HTS) field in 2000 at Bayer, and after which she joined Axxam from its foundation in 2001. After 7 years of experience in the generation and adaptation of cell-based and biochemical assays for HTS, as well as in the development of new enabling technologies for HTS, she had the opportunity to train in the field of Data Analysis for HTS, for more than 10 years within the Screening Technologies group at Axxam. Since June 2019, she is the Unit Manager of the Data Analysis/Compound management unit within the Hit Tailoring Solution group at Axxam.

Nazareno Menegatti has a BSc degree in Biotechnology and a MSc degree in Bioinformatics (University of Milan Bicocca). He has been working in compound management since 2015 and he is Operational Manager in the Compound Management/Data Analysis unit since January 2021, taking care of the management of the corporate compound collection, from the library expansion design to the logistics, as well as management of client’s libraries. He is also in charge of the coordination of Compound Management projects for clients as well as for internal activities, supporting other units (High-Throughput Screening, High Content Screening, Compound Profiling, Electrophysiology, Discovery Research and Discovery Chemistry).
